"The care of the earth is our most ancient and most worthy and, after all, our most pleasing responsibility. To cherish what remains of it, and to foster its renewal, is our only legitimate hope." - Wendell Berry

The San Juan-Chama Watershed Partnership

Western Landowners Alliance has partnered with the Chama Peak Land Alliance and New Mexico State Forestry to assist in restoring forest and watershed health to a vital 1.4 million-acre landscape. The San Juan-Chama headwaters provide the source water for much of northern New Mexico. Private landowners in the Chama Peak Land Alliance have initiated this effort and WLA is providing support through our national network of advisors, staff capacity and a united voice in support of our peers engaged in this important effort.
